Mike Connolly lives with his wife, Brie Goolbis, in Hampstead, North Carolina.
He worked as a high school, middle school and upper elementary school principal in urban, suburban and rural school districts in the USA before going to work in prestigious international schools in Thailand, Costa Rica, the Netherlands and finally Vietnam. In 2007 he retired after 42 years in education to pursue his passion for writing.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell with a BA in English. He has a Masters Degree in American Literature from Salem State College and a Masters Degree in School Administration from Antioch New England College.
He is the author of four books What They Never Told Me in Principals’ School and Teaching Kids to Love Learning, Not Just Endure It, published by Rowman and Littlefield. His third book, co-written with his wife Brie Goolbis, Young Enough To Change the World was published by Kalindi Press in June 2015. ...but few are chosen: A Different Path to Coming of Age, published by Vandamere Press ,2018. Mike's articles have appeared in numerous national and international journals.
Mike has delivered seminars and presented workshops in London, Thailand, Malaysia and the USA.
